New prostate biopsy system with image fusion(fusion biopsee) at the Urology Department of GN Asklepiio Voula

 

The diagnosis of prostate cancer at an early stage implies better outcomes than advanced ones
and an excellent prognosis in relation to survival.

The Diagnosis of the disease so far was made with correction biopsy of the prostate ultrasound guided.

Recently our Hospital acquired a new system based on image fusion MRI and ultrasound source that

allows the targeted biopsy of suspicious foci in the gland.

It excels in the early diagnosis of prostate cancer compared to previous It reduces the number of false negative results
and of repeated biopsy sessions, and increases its effectiveness method.

This system Fusion Biopsee is the first that is installed and operates in a Public Health Facility in the Attica basin.
