History of Pediatric Clinic |
Paediatric Department of Asklepieion General Hospital was founded in 1985 concurrently
with the Greek National Health System (NHS).
It is based in the Venizeleio Building 15. It occupies 20 paediatric beds of which 4 are
special care cots and 2 paediatric isolation beds.
In Paediatric Department are being treated children from neonatal age up to 16
years old, in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
The Department has recently been equipped with a billibed in
order to treat neonatal jaundice.
The Department collaborates with all Paediatric sub-specialties in the
1st, 2nd and 3rd Department of Paediatrics
in the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.
The Paediatric Department has been certified for two year training in General
Paediatrics Specialty, which further includes experience in Developmental Paediatrics
and Preterm and High Risk neonates follow-up.
Outpatient clinics include:
1. Paediatric Outpatient Clinic
2. Developmental Outpatient Clinic
3. Follow up Clinic of the Preterm and High Risk Neonates
In Paediatric Outpatient Clinic we also run a Well Baby Clinic,
the National Vaccination Program and in collaboration with the Department of Dietitians
a Children’s Body Weight Program.
