Includes the training of Child Psychiatry Residents and other mental health specialists

The Department of Children & Adolescent Psychiatry is one of the eight (8) clinics in Greece that gives full specialty in Child Psychiatry. In the long history of the Clinic (since 1981) generations of young child psychiatrists have been trained.
There are currently three (3) positions of Child Psychiatry Residents, which were transfered with the Third Department of Children's Psychiatric Hospital of Attica. The department ensures their theoretical and practical training.

The Department develops educational activities. We consider the training of the Department's stuff of crucial importance for the development of services. In the educational programs can also participate students and other mental health specialists upon request.

The purpose of the education is:
- To promote understanding and early recognition of mental health problems in children and adolescents, given that the majority of mental health problems can be treated in primary care
- The acquisition of skills in handling mental health problems in children and adolescents and the appropriate use of specialized services
- Improving the interconnection between primary care and specialized services
- Appropriate referral of cases to appropriate services, as needed
- Evaluation and treatment of some children and families who are found that can be treated in these levels

Beyond the therapeutic group of executives in the sector, the education is about raising awareness in other categories of specialists, such as physicians of other specialties, doctors and staff of primary care, practice and training of
psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and other specialists.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM 2016 - 2017

Small Auditorium of "Asklepieion" General Hospital, Voula. Classes are held every Wednesday 12:30 - 14:30

The training program is aimed at all professionals in the area of mental health of children, adolescents and their families. It consists of two sections: Section of General Agenda (until 29.03.2017 - Easter Holidays) and the Section of Basic Clinical Psychiatry (from 26.04.2017 until the end of the program in June).
